In St. Louis, Missouri there is a craft brewery with a heart for their community and brews to satisfy every taste. April 7th, 2021 marks the fifth anniversary of City Wide Beer, 4 Hands Brewing Company's American Pale Ale with a purpose. For every case of City Wide sold in the St. Louis area $1 is donated to a local non-profit carefully selected by the 4 Hands team. City Wide tastes great too! It is the number one selling American Pale Ale in Missouri. Five years and $250,000 later, it is clear St. Louis loves this beer and its mission.

4 Hands Brewing Co. was founded in 2011 by Kevin Lemp. Now a staple of the LaSalle Park neighborhood in downtown St. Louis, 4 Hands promises to be a fun outing the whole family will enjoy. The taproom is open for patrons to enjoy while observing local Covid-19 guidelines. With beautiful, warm days right around the corner, what could be better than a walk over to try one of 14 beers on draft or their full service bar. Bring the family and play free arcade games and Skee Ball in the upstairs tasting room. If you work up an appetite while you are there, just head down to the main floor and order delicious food available from Peacemaker and Sidney Street.

The brewery produces seven year-round brews and a rotating variety of seasonal beers. Everything comes from the 200,000 square foot brewing facility with space for barrel aging. In 2016, the team at 4 Hands decided it was time to give back to their beloved community. That is when City Wide American Pale Ale was born. The 4 Hands Brewing team votes for four non-profits a year to support in the St. Louis area. These causes are deeply researched and close to their hearts. This year donations are going to Ronald McDonald House, Safe Connections, Home Sweet Home, and Missouri Forest Releaf. Folks at the brewery are grateful to learn from these organizations doing work in their community and are inspired by their leadership.

Founder Kevin Lemp says of City Wide, “This beer is our voice, our change agent in the community and our badge of honor. We see City Wide as a collaboration with everyone who claims they are ‘From St. Louis for St. Louis.’ We wanted to create something that would immerse us into St. Louis to learn, see and work to become a pillar in this amazing community. City Wide has helped us accomplish that and much more!” Members of the team love City Wide for the connections to the community they might not have made otherwise.

When you visit 4 Hands Brewing Co. at 1220 South 8th St in downtown St. Louis you know it is going to be more than great craft beer. It’s taking part in an enthusiastic community who loves St. Louis as much as they love beer.  If you are unable to make it down in person, grab a case of City Wide at a retailer in the greater St. Louis market and know you are a part of a worthy cause.
