Van Gogh Immersive Experience

The Van Gogh Immersive Experience was breathtaking and way beyond my expectations! Who would have thought that you could you become so mesmerized through the mix of art and technology? Van Gogh’s art is the perfect platform in which to bring art to life. And is something that is proven with every room you enter.

Entering the exhibit, the first room houses excerpts from letters, most written to his brother and best friend, Theo and gives a glimpse into Van Gogh’s life. The next room has Van Gogh’s paintings come to life as colors wash over you and music fills the air. The imagery surrounds you! Brought to life as it is projected onto the walls, the ceiling, and the floor of the room. The subject matter changes from portraits that have blinking eyes and slight movements of the faces to flowers that drop petals or are blowing in the wind. Beautiful shifting landscapes roll into sketches that come to life before your eyes.

The room then becomes dark, and you are transported to a Starry Night in Southern France. But I would have to say the best part is that you can walk around the room and experience the artwork at different perspectives and angles and at various places in the artwork itself.

Whether you’re a lover of art, or Van Gogh, or just want your senses aroused, this is a wonderful event to experience. Just as art is intended to do.
