Springfield-based Great Escape Beer Works plans major expansion with second location in Republic!

REPUBLIC, MO. – April 13, 2022 – Springfield, Missouri-based Great Escape Beer Works
today announced plans for a significant expansion with a second location in Republic, Missouri.
The new flagship location will be home to an expanded production facility and taproom offering
craft beer and food, with extensive indoor and outdoor amenities.

Located on a 6.3-acre campus on US-60 just south of the James River Freeway, the propertywill undergo a substantial transformation while incorporating two existing buildings into the vision:

● Expanded production facility: With a footprint more than ten times larger than its original brewing space, the new 16,000 square-foot production warehouse will be home to a new 30-barrel brewhouse, increasing yearly production by 15,000 barrels and allowing the brand to expand distribution statewide.

● New taproom: Envisioned as a welcoming destination for everyone, the new
11,000-square foot taproom will include a full kitchen, space for food trucks, indoor
miniature golf course and outdoor beer garden with an idyllic atmosphere in keeping with
the brand’s close connection to the natural beauty of the Ozarks. Event space for private
and corporate gatherings will also be incorporated.

“We’re grateful to our loyal customers for making this exciting expansion possible,” said Jake
Duensing, Great Escape Beer Works owner and brewmaster. “The new location allows us to
introduce our unique take on beer to more fans across the state while growing our supportive
community with a fun, welcoming environment.”

A passion rooted in the Ozarks

Owners Jake and Jen Duensing created Great Escape Beer Works based on a shared love of craft beer and adventures in the great outdoors. Jake worked at various breweries across Colorado and Washington before returning to his hometown of Springfield with Jen and their three children.

The original brewery and taproom debuted in December 2018 in Springfield’s Galloway area,
quickly gaining a following for its excellent selection of craft beer and casual atmosphere. The
brewery offers weekly live music and trivia nights, with four major events held throughout the
year. Popular beers include the Woodscraft IPA and Lake Beer varieties. The Springfield
location will continue to operate in addition to the new Republic campus.

Strong community impact

Local leaders have enthusiastically embraced the expansion.

“The city is excited to welcome Great Escape Beer Works and are looking forward to the
gathering and entertainment space for the residents of Republic,” said Andrew Nelson, BUILDS
Administrator for the City of Republic. “Reinvestment into existing property is crucial for the life
of a city. We appreciate their willingness to completely change the face of the former Burke
Bridge property and will be a great component to the redevelopment of Highway 60 and the new
MM corridor.”

Great Escape plans to hire 25 more team members in the coming months to support the new
facility with both production and taproom needs (Packaging Techs, Servers, Cooks, production
staff).

Construction is expected to begin later this year, with an opening date to be announced at a
later date.
