Callery Pear Buy-Back in St. Louis

Hosted by the Missouri Invasive Plant Task Force, Forest ReLeaf, and BiodiverseCity St. Louis.

Cut down an invasive Callery pear tree during Earth Week!

You can get an ecologically beneficial tree in exchange.

To spread awareness about how the invasive Callery (Bradford) pear tree (Pyrus calleryana) causes harm to economics and environment, the Missouri Invasive Plant Task Force, Forest ReLeaf, and BiodiverseCity St. Louis are hosting their second Callery Pear Buy-back in St. Louis. Participants are invited to cut down their Callery pear tree and submit a photo of it to the Missouri Invasive Plant Task Force. Forest ReLeaf and Forrest Keeling Nursery are providing native/noninvasive tree to each participant to replace the invasive Callery pears.

The offer is limited to one native tree per photo proof of one cut-down Callery pear.

At checkout, you will be given a link to a separate web page to submit your photo.

Participants are invited to pick up their trees from Forest ReLeaf from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. To limit person-to-person contact, you must reserve a time slot and make your tree selection here on Eventbrite.
